working the series…..

Early on I was always told to make a series of each work, never just one…. I have always tried to live by  this rule with my artwork … so once I start a new work, there is a high probability there will be two more behind it…(unless I run out of materials…which happens…lol).. So in the spirit of painting  in three’s here is my newly completed series ( at least the last two)… I haven’t yet  titled the series… if you have any ideas please let me know… as for now here is abstract 85 and abstract 86…hope you all enjoy.. I’ll have another one out shortly… talk to you soon..

whats in a name?

I have often wondered how much impact plays in a title of work….. Is it the title that captured the interest or is it the picture that drew you in?…. for me i have always struggled when it comes to the names of my creations…  for me its hard as my work is emotional and evolves during its creation,  and it had always been difficult to capture that in a specific title… so i have become used to just using numbers as my titles….. (plus it helps with organization of all my work…lol)… Here is my latest creation hanging on my drying wall…., its 6 ft x 4 ft, it is oil, ….. for this one we did choose to title this piece differently..  it is titled   traffic …..  hope you all enjoy…. i’ll have another one out shortly ….

the gardener

Happy Easter everyone… been a while since we posted…. been busy at work, but still managed to find some time for the studio… really excited about the new work upcoming…  but as spring is here we have been busy working in the backyard before the heat sets in… Here is a recent picture of my outdoor sculpture  called “the gardener” … I was really excited to put this together ;  we were able to use recycled parts when creating it…. parts of tractors,  old disc’s,  old ceramic pots all reclaimed from our landfills… have a great day and thanks for sharing our journey  with us..

energy**

hey everybody;

………..wow its been windy here!! …2012 already seems to be blowing by…… sorry for the late post, we have been busy working the ” other business”….. …… we are in the process of  a small update on the website and have added some new work in the time being.. …. I was really excited to finish these new pieces…One thing I can tell you is that I  have always enjoyed the beauty of mathematical  equations.    There is literally an equation for everything that we come in contact with….You will find parts of them scattered throughout my work… numbers and equations have always presented themselves as beautiful, flowing, and eternal….. their complexity, simplicity and their diagram represent themselves  in every part of our life…… here is my first creation for 2012….. it is titled   “energy**” .. it is 24 x 24 wood panel, mixed media, gold leaf, electrical circuits, oil paint, acrylic …

hope you all enjoy..

Hey everyone…

Hope all is well…. Been busy in the studio, working on new pieces and mapping out my shows for 2012..   I for one am excited to see 2012… new opportunities, new relationships, new shows and new adventures  …I’ve been excited about our new schedule and lists of showings for 2012…. here is my latest creation… it is 2 ft x 2 ft, wood panel,  acrylic, metallic flakes, and polymer resin…..its titled, “abstract 83”….. I added a 24 x 24  black wood frame around the panel… so its framed and ready to hang…. for this piece I tried a new technique when applying the paint.. ….I really enjoyed how the paint reacted to each of the tools I used and flowed over the panel, creating its unique  appearance … Hope you all enjoy,  I ‘ll have another one out shortly…
