I Will Always Believe in You…

Hey everyone….

My entire life I have always struggled with inverting my words or writing some of them backwards… I could never understand why it happened or really how to stop it…. they were quite normal to me and at first glance,  I thought I was spot on, only to find that my writing was full of reversed words and sentences…..It was only later that I found out that I have suffered with a mild form of Dyslexia.   As I started to do more research on the subject I was amazed how many others have suffered as well…Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollack, Chuck Close, August Rodin,  Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg,  Steve Jobs, and Henry Winkler…

They say that 1 in 7 are affected with various forms from minimal to severe.  I was really shocked that studies showed it really seems to affect the creatives more time than not.  When I first saw the list of  the prominent people I actually found some comfort knowing I was not alone.

This was my motivation in creating this piece, as I wanted to let everyone know who suffers from any form of Dsylexia, that you can succeed, you can prosper and you can lead….so for anyone out there…… No matter what is said or how its said… I will always believe in you.. go do it!

So Here is my latest painting… It is 40×30 oil,  it is titled, “Dyslexia” .  Hope you all enjoy…I’ll have another one out shortly….

Oil Snob….lol

Oil Snob….lol

Hey everyone… hope all is well…. being an oil snob…. i have always stayed away from acrylics, and worked exclusively with oils… I ran out of oils recently had decided to use acrylics.. It definitely speeds up your drying time and Sieglinde is much happier as the carpeting isn’t getting destroyed….so its nice to work with a new media,  and it opened up the door to many more options,  but in the end…  i have to confess,  its all about the oils…. except this one…. maybe a couple more….this is 30 x48… acrylic on canvas.. it is called “abstract 87”... hope you all enjoy .. I’ll have another on out shortly….  Check us out October 13-14 in two weeks… we will be showing at the Summerlin Arts Festival… Come on by and say hi… We will be showing some new work ….weather should be awesome!!.. see you there

abstract florals: study of blue tulips

one of my favorite flowers has always been the tulip…. simplicity, yet sophistication…. I think it really speaks to the duality of how something so small can be so powerful, but then flowers have always been  like this…. I always try each year to add a floral to my portfolio… as an abstract artist I think they make excellent studies due to their ability to be portrayed as abstractions, yet connect us to reality …. here is a recent study in abstraction… this is mixed media…. wood panel, oil, acrylic, aluminum panel…. this just came off the studio wall last week and is drying…soon as they dry i’ll be adding a polymer resin top coat, which should really set this off nicely… hope you all enjoy… i’ll have another one out shortly….
